Call for entries – K3 2012! |
|
K3 invites you to subscribe for the competitions in its 6th edition!
The K3 short film Festival is open to all short film genres and it has a profound interest in the contradictions that derive from it.
Thanks to the success of the last edition in Udine and Villach, K3 goes one more time beyond its geographical boundaries by including Ljubljana as the third location of the festival. Another innovation is that besides the well-known international section, in the edition of 2012, there are local competitions! - K3 International Short Film Festival will be held in Villach in October and is open to filmmakers from around the world.
Awards: K3 international Award and K3 Audience Award.
- K3 local festivals of short films will be held in Udine in August, in Ljubljana in September and in Villach in October.
The local competition is open only to filmmakers born and/or residents (for at least 1 year) in FVG (IT), Carinthia (AUT) and Slovenia (SLO).
Awards: K3 local Award.
Submissions can be made online via reelport.com or by sending a preview-DVD.
For postal sending please fill out the entry form and send the requested material to:

A Short Video on the K3 Festival 2011 |
|
Made by Ernst Miesgang (Art in the City/Vienna) this video gives you an impression of the K3 international Short Film Festival 2011. Starting at the two cinemas - Visionario, Udine and Stadtkino, Villach, after a panoramic view we end up at Kulturhofkeller Villach. You will get a glance of the muliti-facetted festival, which took place across the borders of Italy and Austria. An insight of the concerts of doubleBLU, Arbeiter and Hans-Joachim Roedelius, the astonishing first-time collaboration of Hans Platzgumer and Clemens Kogler, the head of jury Karpo Godina are given as well as the intense discussion on the K3 audience award. We are already looking forward to K3 2012 and we will have some surprising, special features coming up. Stay tuned! |

Head of the judging panel Karpo Godina was given the hard task to choose the best out of 30 short films. He finally decided on Phone Tapping by HeeWon Lee with the following explanation:
The film "Phone Tapping" by HeeWon Lee shouldn't be retold, it has to be watched. With a genuine filmic language the Korean director tells a minimalistic story about coming dawns that slowly become deeper than nights. Vice President of the Wirtschaftskammer Kärnten Sylvia Wostal handed over the prize money of 1.500 Euros and the K3 Trophy: “Crossing borders is very important for economy and the future of Carinthia, so I appreciate the K3 Festival’s approach on foreign expansion.” The winner HeeWon Lee thanked the K3 judging panel and the whole team via an online video message. |
